O’Fallon Renewable Energy Center (OREC)

O’Fallon, MO

Trusted Partner for First Solar Investment

Ameren Missouri’s first investment in solar energy production relied on PayneCrest to efficiently install all electrical needs for the O’Fallon Renewable Energy Center (OREC) in O’Fallon, Mo.  Spanning 22 acres, it is the largest investor-owned utility scale solar facility in Missouri. OREC features more than 18,000 solar panels in 75 rows to generate 5.7 megawatt of electricity, enough to power 650 average-size homes in the St. Louis area.  The project earned PayneCrest honors at the AGC Keystone Awards.

“For a project of this importance to Ameren Missouri and our customers, PayneCrest was an invaluable partner.” Scott Wibbenmeyer, manager of renewable development, Ameren Missouri.
