The Abengoa plant will produce 25 million gallons of ethanol derived from nearly 350,000 tons of the earth’s most abundant organic feedstock source – plant fiber or cellulosic biomass. The residue of biomass will be combusted along with 300 tons/day of fry, raw biomass material (feedstock) to produce 18 megawatts of electricity. This power will make the entire facility energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Working with an intense seven-month schedule and managing 185 electricians, PayneCrest is installing all medium and low voltage, instrumentation and controls and wiring for the plant. To keep the project on pace, it has deployed seven designers on site to make modifications to engineering plans, streamlining installations and delivering optimal functionality.
