O'Fallon Renewable Energy Center

This first-ever solar field by Ameren Missouri required PayneCrest to work with building partners MC Industrial and Burns & McDonnell to meet the power company’s exacting standards.  Because of its experience in building solar facilities, including one of the largest in the world in Gila Bend, AZ, PayneCrest assisted the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor with engineering refinements, ensuring the facility achieved its desired energy production. A stringent commissioning, including third party testing, validated solar output and exceeded all expectations.

Mt. Signal Solar

Mt. Signal consists of state-of-the-art solar photovoltaic modules, related power electronics, and other components including an advanced tracking system that follows the sun to maximize energy production. Its annual production capacity is approximately 206 megawatts (MW) of electricity, enough renewable solar energy to serve 72,000 households in San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) service territory.

Solana Solar

The project in Gila Bend, Az, for Abengoa Solar, Inc. is a 250-megawatt (MW) concentrated solar power (CSP) facility to serve up to 70,000 Arizona Public Service (APS) customers. PayneCrest is powering 3,232 large parabolic mirrors tracking the sun. The mirrors focus heat of the sun on pipes carrying a heat transfer fluid that converts into steam to generate power.  PayneCrest installed 775,000 feet of cabling, 9,600 grounding rods and 105,000 feet of grounding wire to safely power the Solana solar generation station.
