Alliant Energy Edgewater Environmental Upgrade (AQCS)  

PayneCrest’s experience is proving invaluable to a joint venture team helping Wisconsin Power and Light, a unit of U.S. power company Alliant Energy Corp, comply with stricter emission standards.  PayneCrest is supplying constructability reviews and value engineering solutions to upgrades at Unit 5 of the Edgewater coal-fired power plant in Sheboygan, Wis.  Work on the 30-year-old, 407-megawatt (MW) unit entails installing a scrubber and bag house system to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by about 90 percent and significantly reduce fine particulate matter.

CertainTeed Jonesburg Laminator & Stacker  

PayneCrest formed a firm relationship while working with CertainTeed Roofing at their new state-of-the-art asphalt roofing shingle plant and Midwestern distribution facility in Jonesburg. Our team was selected to finish out the remaining electrical process packages at the $100 million facility which includes design and installation for the manufacturing and packaging of shingles.

Flint Creek Plant Retrofit Project  

American Electric Power Corporation's $400 million Flint Creek retrofit project received funding to comply with new stringent US environmental regulations. The construction scope consists of an installation of a NID Dry Flue Gas Desulphurization (DFDG) System and Activated Carbone Injection (ACI) system to mitigate plant emission of sulfur and mercury.

Asbury Air Quality Control System (AQCS)  

An era of intensified EPA regulations has increased the need for PayneCrest’s services to modernize power plants – among them, the Empire District Electric’s 216-megawatt Power Plant in Ashbury, Mo.  Ashbury’s new Air Quality Control System (AQCS) was successfully activated as PayneCrest delivered precision electrical installations supporting the plant’s new scrubber system.

Mississippi River Bridge  

The Missouri Department of Transportation engaged PayneCrest in a mentor-protégé agreement to help BRK Electric Owner Marion Hayes on the minority firm’s largest project ever.   PayneCrest dedicated Kenny Bassler to the project which included installing all roadway, river navigation, aviation, and aesthetic lighting for the cable-stayed bridge.  In all, more than 31 miles of wiring was installed.  PayneCrest was able to trim electrical costs by 17 percent through value engineering while helping BRK manage all aspects of this significant assignment.  The bridge is currently ahead of schedul

PyraMax Ceramics Proppant Facility  

PayneCrest performed all electrical work for the new multi-building facility for The Woodlands, Texas-based PyraMax Ceramics, which will mine kaolin clay to manufacture tiny ceramic pellets used in fracture drilling operations.  PayneCrest imparted its “best practices” to transform a skilled local workforce into a highly efficient construction team.
